Last updated: 22 May 2026

Details

  • URL: https://www.smmaak.be/pages/het-atelier
  • What it is: “open studio” where you use the studio, equipment and ingredients to cook/bake at your own pace (not a class).
  • Booking: email info@smmaak.be first, then order your recipe(s) via the website
  • When: weekdays only when there are no workshops • from September: every Friday as an open studio day (until then: by appointment)
  • Pricing: you pay per recipe (ideally 1 recipe per person)

What is smmaak’s open studio?

smmaak offers an open studio: you do not follow a workshop, but use their space, equipment and ingredients to make what you want.

They explicitly state this is not a lesson, so you should have the basics for most topics. Professional food makers/caterers can also use the FAVV-approved studio to prepare dishes.

Practical: cleaning up & drinks

  • You clean your workspace, put items back in the fridge and wash what cannot go in the dishwasher.
  • Water/sparkling water is included; there is an honesty bar for coffee/other drinks.

FAQ (short)

  • For chocolate work, you must have taken a class first.
  • It’s per person; sharing one recipe with a group is not the intention.
