What is Schaalklaar?
Schaalklaar is a VLAIO grant for young innovative start-ups with the ambition and potential to scale in the short term.
Important: the grant is not meant to finance the scale-up phase itself, but to prepare your company for scaling.
Who is it for?
According to VLAIO:
- innovative companies
- 1 to 5 years old
- located in the Flemish Region
What can you use it for?
Activities that make your company scale-ready and that do not (or less) fit other innovation instruments such as feasibility studies, research projects or development projects.
Payout
Paid out based on achieving the milestones described in your project plan.
2026 planning (as stated by VLAIO)
- Pre-registration: 7–30 April 2026
- Submission (after positive pre-registration): 1 June–20 August 2026
- Jury interviews: 14, 15, 17, 21, 22 and 28 September 2026
- Decision: December 2026
