What are innovation mandates?

An innovation mandate enables a postdoctoral researcher to execute a project in close collaboration with industry:

• either with an existing company, or
• with a view to creating a new company/spin-off.

These projects typically carry too much risk to immediately fit a classic R&D project.

What is funded?

Strategic basic research with a clear path to economic valorisation and added value for a company or a new spin-off.
